Mocanaqua Fire was dispatched along with Pond Hill Fire & EMS to Burds LN for a reported co alarm activation 118-E2 went enroute and was advised by Luzerne County 911 that the homeowner advised that it was a false activation and their was no need for fire and ems on scene. 118-E2 was placed back in service.
Brush 118 responded with Pond Hill Fire to the area of Ruckle Hill Rd & Route 239 in Conyngham Township for the brush fire. Crews worked for about 30 minutes before clearing the scene.
Crews were dispatched at the request of Shickshinny EMS on scene for lifting assistance, crews arrived and assisted with removing the patient out of the residence into the awaiting ambulance.
MVFC was dispatched to Route 11 in Shickshinny for a vehicle on fire. Engine 2 arrived on scene and found a box truck carrying mail off to the side of the roadway. Crews found that the brakes were on fire. The driver of the truck and State Police had dumped an ABC extinguisher prior to FD arrival. Engine 2 pulled the front jump line for extinguishment and cooled the braking area.
MVFC was dispatched with Pond Hill Fire & EMS for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injury and reports of utility pole down on Ruckle Hill Road. Medic 95 and 118 Engine 3 arrived on scene and found a one vehicle accident with a utility pole down blocking the road. 118 Engine notified Luzerne County Dispatch and requested UGI to the scene. Fire Police closed Ruckle Hill Road and redirected traffic.
Crews were dispatched to the intersection of N. Main Street & E Union Street in Shickshinny Boro for the 2 vehicle crash with reported injury. Chief 118 and members from Shickshinny EMS arrived and found 2 vehicles that had collided head on, no entrapment, no injury once patients were evaluated. Crews secured the vehicles and applied oil dry to leaking fluids and assisted with fire police. 118 Engine was made available in 30 minutes.
